AHRM 2nd Annual HR Best Practice Award Winners

Our 2nd Annual HR Best Practice Awards Ceremony was held again at the Frederick Meijer Gardens on March 9, 2005. These awards recognize companies that successfully align HR programs and practices with their business goals and objectives.

Richard has an MS in Business Administration and spent many years in Strategic Management positions within the retail industry. Currently, he oversees nearly 500 people at our local YMCA and is responsible for relationships with other community businesses and organizations

Kent has more than 40 years of experience representing management interests in labor matters, focusing on planning for and acting as principal spokesman in negotiations, work stoppages, and NLRB proceedings. He provides counsel and advice to management in union organizing campaigns, union avoidance programs, and maintenance of union-free environment. Kent has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1987.

Frank has a Master of Education and Business Administration and currently is working on his Doctorate degree in Business Management specializing in organization and leadership disciplines. He spent seven years at Haworth Corporation and was a Corporate President with Herman Miller before joining Davenport University. His responsibilities include assuring that faculty members are selected, trained and developed to meet the University's growing demands

Nancy Volpe, SPHR

Nancy has 17 years experience as a Human Resources generalist and an MBA from Western Michigan University. She was certified as a Corporate Coach through Corporate Coach University in 2002. Nancy has held a variety of volunteer positions in the HR profession, including: past President and Board member of the Association of Human Resource Management, Michigan SHRM State Council Director, and SHRM Area III Vice President. Currently, she is one of thirteen Directors at Large on the national board for the Society of Human Resource Management .(SHRM), which represents 195,000 members worldwide.
