The Scholarship Committee coordinates four (4) annual scholarships awarded by AHRM. Two Student Scholarships are designed to assist a member of the student chapter with the cost of the Human Resource Degree and two scholarships are awarded to an AHRM member to assist with the cost of the PHR/SPHR Certification exams

Student Scholarship

Two (2) $500 scholarships will be awarded to two students who are pursuing a degree in Human Resources. These scholarships are designed as a benefit to students to assist in funding the students’ degree. In addition to the application, there is a short essay requirement where student applicants explain why they are interested in a Human Resource career.

Deadline

Applications for the first scholarship are due by December 31 st for the winter term and the scholarship will be awarded at the February luncheon meeting. Applications for the second scholarship are due by July 31 st for the fall term and the scholarship will be awarded at the September luncheon meeting.

HRCI Certification Scholarship

Two (2) scholarships will be awarded to two different AHRM members who will take the PHR or SPHR certification exams (go to Certification for more information on the exams). The scholarships will cover the current cost of the PHR or SPHR exam, although the money can be used for other related expenses, such as study materials, in case the member’s company is funding the cost of the exam. Winners will be selected randomly from applicants who meet all eligibility requirements. Full guidelines and applications are available by clicking on the Certification for HR link below.

Deadline

Applications for the first scholarship are due by March 15 for the May exam and will be awarded at the April luncheon meeting. Applications for the second scholarship are due by October 15 for the November exam and will be awarded at the November luncheon meeting.
