The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC") has stated that harassment investigations should be conducted
by "well-trained, objective and neutral investigators." The EEOC also has indicated that an investigator should document
all steps taken from the point of first contact and prepare a written report using guidelines to weigh credibility. This
program will focus on how to conduct an investigation and the documentation that should be prepared as part of the
The learning objectives of this program are: (1) to obtain training on how to conduct an investigation, (2) to learn how an
investigation should be conducted, (3) to learn what should be documented during the investigation, and (4) to learn what
actions should be taken following an investigation.
